Alienware Area-51 ALX
$6,799.00
The Cons:Way Way Way expensive!
Alienware, owned by Dell, are notorious for their high-performance computers built especially for gamers. The Area-51 ALX deserves bragging rights as their top of the line desktop model with the inclusion of the market's first quad-core CPU, the Intel Core 2 Extreme CPU running at 2.66 GHz with an 8 MB cache, and dual SLI NVidia 8800 GTX video cards with 768 MB of onboard memory apiece.

If that wasn't enough, it also comes equipped with 2GB of DDR2 RAM clocked at 1066 MHz, a 500 GB SATA 3.0 hard drive, and Windows XP Media Center Edition (with a free upgrade to Vista). All of this power comes at a price, and you should expect to pay almost $7000 for this beauty.

#alienware_area_51_alx It's generally true that if you build a computer out of parts, you will get the best value (and the exact specs you need), and there are some pretty sweet computer cases out there if you want it to look pretty. However, it's not for the faint of heart.

#alienware_area_51_alx Ya, I think if you want, and can afford a crazy top of the line computer like this with dual 8800s then you probably don't care about the extra 2 grand. And you get the nice and shiny case too!
