Asus Essentio CG5270-BP004

$650.00 Released November, 2009

Product Shot 1 The Pros:Affordable price. Minimalist yet stylish aesthetic. Powerful components - Core 2 Quad CPU, 8GB of memory, 1TB storage disk.

The Cons:Intel GMA graphics - despite being a powerhouse it is limited to 2D applications only, the worst of the worst for 3D rendering. Asus is new to the desktop game, their customer support is extremely lacking compared to well-established American based system manufacturers. No internal WiFi.

The Asus Essentio CG5270-BP004 is a midgrade desktop released in mid 2009 as a direct competitor to the HP Pavilion P6230y. It features an Intel Core 2 Quad processor cited as outperforming HP’s AMD chip in most tests.

Included also with the base model is 8GB of DDR2 RAM, a 1TB SATA hard-disc drive, and an integrated graphics card. There is plenty of room available though for also adding along a dedicated graphics card; included also are two PCI and one PCI Express slot.
