Dell FX100 Zero Client

The Dell FX100 Zero Client is one of two nondescript desktops (FX100 Zero Client, OptiPlex 980) released in March 2010. The Zero Client is a barebones remote desktop designed as a Virtual Remote Desktop or a Dedicated Remote Workstation solution for businesses.

It doesn’t require a processor, an OS, or a corporate image to work. It instead utilizes PC-over-IP technology (PCoIP) so businesses can centralize client desktops, “while delivering the performance and flexibility of a traditional PC.” Included also is support for Vmware View 4.0 with PCoIP. Additional features include support for 10/100/1000 BaseT Ethernet networks; true and transparent USB bridging over IP networks; and the ability to operate in conjunction with any operating system and application.
