The Dell OptiPlex FX130 Thin Client is a basic processor designed for work environments where applications and file storage are handled by a central server. This is similar to the Dell OptiPlex FX170 Thin Client, but is only capable of running Linux and is limited to a single 1GB flash storage that can't be expanded.

The processor is different as well, in this case using a VIA Eden ULV 1GHz processor. Graphics are handled by the integrated VIA VX855 chipset that uses up to 512MB for graphics processing. Networking is built in with full support for standard 10/100/1000 Ethernet connections, and both DVI-I and VGA ports are available for monitors that can work in up to 1600x1200 resolution. When idle, the system consumes 9 watts of energy.
