The Dell Precision 390 is an Intel-based, multiple-core workstation that supports Intel Core 2 Extreme, Intel Core 2 Quad, and Intel Core 2 Duo processors. It builds from previous generation Precision models by incorporating key architectural improvements like Wide Dynamic Execution so more data can be processed per clock cycle; Advanced Smart Cache for optimized memory and therefore improved processing; Smart Memory Access for lowered memory latency; Advanced Digital Media Boost for completing a 128-bit execution step in a single clock cycle; and Intelligent power management.

Featured is anywhere from 2GB to 8GB of DDR2 ECC SDRAM, two 3.5" HDD bays, two 5.25" optical bays, a single PCI-e x16 graphics slot, a single PCI-e x8 slot wired as x4, a single PCI-e x1 slot, and versatile connectivity options like USB and FireWire.
