HP Pavilion P6230y
$680.00
Released August, 2009
The Pros:Integrated graphics support dual monitor setups (via VGA and DVI). Included keyboard has a nice feel--doesn't feel cheap like many bundled keyboards. Excellent price point for a Phenom II x4 system with 8GB of RAM.
The Cons:A fair amount of annoying HP bloatware comes pre-installed with the OS. Hard drive cage system is annoying, requires a lot more effort than should be necessary to add/remove a drive.
The HP Pavilion P6230y is a midrange desktop PC released in mid 2009 as a successor to the cheaper P6110y. Critics cite the P6230y as being aesthetically pleasing, but relatively slow, especially when compared to a competitor like the Asus Essentio CG5270-BP004.

Featured on the base model is a Phenom II quad-core processor (2.6GHz), 8GB of standard RAM, and a 750GB SATA HDD. Notable about the desktop is its abundance of port offering, including USB, 7.1-channel analog audio, coaxial digital audio, FireWire, VGA, DVI, Ethernet, and built-in wireless. It does, however, lack a much needed eSATA interface.
